A Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, two dreamers met and shared their vision with each other of an artist retreat. They agreed this retreat would be different from most retreats they had read about or encountered. They desired a natural rustic setting that would offer a sense of renewal and... would be a haven for non-artists and artists alike.

This retreat would offer the the experience of birthing and supporting what they believed to be everyone's natural inner artist, offering additional programs themed in nature, sustainable living, metaphysics and personal development: all with the intent of helping the individual reconnect with their own "sacred fire", so that they could then feel comfortable in sharing their innate gifts for a better world.

Welcome to Sacred Fire Farms

Nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks on a century farm with two natural springs and a creek is the home of Michael and Nancy Herold and the realization of their dream: the artist retreat they conceived nearly a decade ago.

Named "Sacred Fire Farms", they offered their first event in a soft opening shortly after their arrival in 2013 with great support and enthusiasm from the commumunity. Soon it was revealed that this dream was everything they could have hoped for...and then some.

Returning to live on the piece of property purchased by Nancy's great-great-grandmother after The Civil War, there was much to be done. The land had remained essentially neglected for more than two decades following the decline of Nancy's last relative who resided here.

"I think the overarching theme of this property is one of renewal and rebirth," says Nancy. "not just for the land, but for Mike and I, as well as everyone who visits. Even those who have no connection to the arts or just come to visit and satisfy their curiosity describe the peace, beauty and sense of restoration they feel...just by walking around."

"That's a good fact, it's a great thing." she offers, adding: "If that is the only 'healing' that takes place for our visitors, then that's enough."
